Consequences of Divorce in America:
Note: Negative social conditions will never improve if political correctness rules. As they say, “Only Truth will set us free.” What they don't say is, “Truth is always uncomfortable initially,” validating another familiar adage: “No pain, no gain.”
With divorce, the mother loses the assistance of an important nurturing partner, compromising an already difficult task. Moreover, compared to children of two-parent families, children of divorced parents are disadvantaged. Specifically…
They are more likely to be emotionally scared for life (to some extent).
They have a harder time achieving intimacy in relationships.
They have a harder time forming and maintaining a stable marriage.
They have deep longings for an intact family.
They are denied the influence of a key role model.
They are hurt financially. Most are impoverished.
They are 6 times as likely to be poor and are apt to stay poor longer.
They are at a much higher risk for physical and sexual abuse.
They experience significant decreases in academic success and physical health.
They are 2 to 3 times as likely to have emotional and behavioral problems.
They are more likely to be delinquent and drop out of high school.
They are more likely to procreate and start a family as teenagers.
They are more likely to abuse drugs and get in trouble with the law.
Analysis
The future of every nation is dependent on the quality of the next generation.
Note: Every child will become either an “asset” or a “liability” to society. Although this is an insensitive way to look at human beings (especially children), the ratio of assets to liabilities in a given society determines its performance and long-term viability.
For every child who becomes a “liability to society,” it takes 6 to 8 taxpayers just to break even.
Note: “Liabilities to society” require more police, forensic labs, courts, jails, parole officers, social programs and workers, public charity for their families, higher insurance rates, guard houses and fences around communities, and so on. Moreover, there can be no compensation for the emotional and physical pain and suffering cast upon innocent law-abiding hard-working citizens.
The numbers reveal the future. A less than 95% success rate in raising well-adjusted, self-reliant, service providing, taxpaying assets to society insures insufficient revenue to support the infrastructure of our civilization, resulting in forever increasing debt.
If nothing is done, the debt will continue to rise until the Dollar becomes worthless.
Note: If the Dollar collapses, it will be the end of free money for dependents, and they will not go hungry. When the announcement is made that there will no longer be free food, the 50 million Americans who receive food stamps will loot and destroy the infrastructure of America over a weekend.
America cannot remain solvent if the two-parent family does not again become the norm. The alternative is national bankruptcy and the end of our civilization.
In short, divorce is the single greatest long-term threat to the viability of America. If we do not reestablish the two-parent family in America now, our civilization will fail.
Conclusion
We must remedy the divorce problem in America for two reasons. First, we have a moral obligation to protect our children, insuring they grow to be strong emotionally and mentally. Second, the survival of our nation and civilization is in the balance.
Marriage and the two-parent family offers our children the best chance to realize their individual potential. In addition, marriage and the two-parent family is an essential ingredient in America's recipe for success. Beyond insuring we remain solvent, it is the only way for our civilization to resolve its problems and achieve greater heights.
